Copper Cabling
Cat5e Twisted Pair cable is by far still the most popular medium installed and used by network professionals today. It's capable of handling Gigabit Ethernet at distances of up to 100 meters in passive mode (with out the aid of a repeating device) and can cover greater distances with the use of hubs or switches.
A major benefit of Cat5 cabling is that it has the ability to service not only data networks but traditional voice networks as well. This means that any outlet on the cabling system used for data communications can easily be converted to a telephone‚ fax or modem end-point and patched through to the phone system. Of course, ITS is professionally trained and experienced in installing other traditional copper cabling mediums. Below are just some of the cabling standards that we work with.

Fiber Optics Fiber optic technologies have become accepted as the medium for backbone cabling in mission-critical applications where high bandwidth‚ data security and distance can not be compromised. For complete reliability it must be installed by highly-trained professionals using specialized termination and certification equipment. ITS can supply a complete end-to-end structured optical cabling solution incorporating an extensive range of cable and connector types. We install both multi-mode and single mode fiber and can also retain civil engineering contractors to provide conduit and cable access across roads and through public or private grounds to facilitate the installation of your private high-band data link.
1. Supports longer distances than traditional "copper". 2. Not susceptible to electromagnetic interference, making it considerably more secure. 3. To date, the only type of cabling supported by 10 Gig Ethernet.

Certification Cable Testing and Certification are the most important steps in any cable installation. Because today’s Fast Ethernet transmission speeds "push the envelope" of any cabling system, it is critical that all components be thoroughly tested. Plugging the network equipment together and verifying that it "works" is not enough. Certification is especially important to prevent expensive upgrades to your cabling system when upgrading to faster networking technologies in the future.
